Food Policy Correspondent
- Current college student (both undergraduate and graduate student applications will be accepted)
- Experience in nutrition science, agriculture, food safety, research, journalism, or policy preferred
- Attend congressional hearings, Agency public meetings (usually FDA + USDA) + other coalition and networking events
- Draft team memos summarizing events and top takeaways
Flexible structure. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director. This person will work with the Sr. Director to determine weekly meeting schedule. Hours per week will vary based on meeting schedules on Capitol Hill and within the Agency departments. Meetings and memo deadlines will be assigned based upon correspondent’s class schedule and availability. Most meetings will fall between the hours of 8am and 5pm.
Food Directions is looking for student bloggers and, due to overwhelming interest, we have decided to turn our search into a contest!
The chosen student bloggers will be required to submit 1 blog per month throughout the fall 2017 school semester. Blogs must be unbiased, fact-based, and entertaining pieces (with proper citations if references are used). Blogs should be approximately 400 words or less in length, containing no typos or grammatical errors.
Winners will attend a networking coffee with FD team members + a student blogger position for the Fall 2017 semester.
